Social capital is basically based on the use of social networks and is build by the amount of people who make use of the different sorts of social media platforms. These impacts the people’s ability to control their information, data and knowledge which may increase their feelings of self-worth. This network allows an individual to evaluate certain networks and resources that people can access. In order to build your social capital it is said that the more connections you have , the better access you will to certain resources you may need. Communication amongst a group of people about certain aspects can be very effective and may work to your benefit. Getting involved in social media groups allows you access to people who think and share the same mindset as yours regarding certain aspects such as your visions or ideas. Displaying your information to the public may be be effective as well, as people may have a broad idea of who they are trying to get in contact with. It is also easy for them to figure out how you could build a connection together with the individual you’ve connected with in the digital world (Heginbotham, 2017).
